February the time when the days begin to get longer and we feel like we are awakening from the long slumber of winter. For many of us it's a month to celebrate the joy of love. This might be with our sweethearts on Valentines day on the 14th,

our pets on the 20th on 'Love your pet day', to strangers on the 17th on 'Random acts of kindness day' or the love of food on either 'Shrove Tuesday' on the 21st or 'Yorkshire pudding day' on the 5th! It seems there is much to celebrate!

In classical mythology , Cupid, the God of desire, love and affection, is often portrayed with a bow and arrow, pricking his victims to inspire intense passionate love.  At David Hunt, we feel our own version of Cupid will inspire this sentiment, though ours is carrying a beautiful globe of glass not a bow and arrows! It will infuse that spirit of playfulness when floating over a kitchen island or hung in a hallway. Available in a deep bronze finish, you can also use our bespoke service to get the cupid painted in either your choice of one of our 12 standard palette colours or we can match it to your specific scheme.

If you prefer something less ornate, our Fairfax range may suit you.  With the same beautiful hand blown glass globe in either clear or opal finishes, the simplicity and versiltity of this design, will be perfect many locations in your home. The range has matching wall lights in either chrome and antique brass, so you will be able  light all areas of the room.

If glass not to your taste, our painted metal pendants come in your choice of our carefully curated paint palette, complemented with either a painted or metallic inner might inject some colour into your home. We have a thoughtfully assembled collection of styles which are well suited to hanging either singly or in groups over dining tables and kitchen islands. From the oversized industrial shape of the Shoreditch, the traditional schoolhouse  silhouette of the Reclamation or the simple elegance of the Ealing, there is something to suit most tastes. Our Special edition Scallop pendant in Little Greene's Hellebore and Bronze Red would set the scene for any romantic Valentines meal when hung over a table. Pair with the time-honoured red roses, white table linen and champagne, it will create a simple romantic setting. If you fancy updating your fizz, try the  French classic, the Kir Royale, or go for the popular Cosmopolitan, or for something new, then Sea Breeze could be for you.

And for delicate mood lighting after dinner, we have many designs of table lamp to create that soft warming glow to your room.  From the playful animal designs of Hopper and Teddy, the exotic Panther, the timeless Noble and the colourful Botany, there is truly is something for everyone. When paired with a pleated shade from our sister brand, The Light Shade Studio in Ian Mankin's Avon check in Peony, the glossy red of the strawberry Botany creates an elegant gleam when placed on a side table beside a sofa. The perfect spot  for relaxing at the end of the evening.

What ever you choose to celebrate in February, we hope you enjoy yourselves and perhaps try incorporate some of our wonderful lighting into your lives.
